Early Life

•  Akhilesh Yadav served as the 20th Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from 2012 to 2017. He took up official responsibilities as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on 15 March 2012 and at 38 is the youngest person to hold this office. He started his political journey by winning the Lok Sabha election from Kannauj in 2000.

• As a Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has initiated many reforms in the state and the Samajwadi Party alike, giving them both a makeover.

• He introduced ‘Janta Darbar’ where any citizen can come and present their problems to him. He has taken many initiatives to digitize the government process and make it paperless and transparent. The young CM launched various apps and online portals to ensure and sustain connectivity with the people.

• He, In four years has distributed more than 300 crore rupees to the needy and accident victims. This amount is almost thrice the financial aid provided by the previous government. UP tourism has seen a major boost under his governance and now claims the 4th position in the country.
